The Pre-Beach Pump
Delray Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade
We escaped Delray Beach shortly before the St. Patrick's Day parade. We were one of the last cars through before the street was blocked off completely. Mark was waving to the crowd. Mike attempted to take pictures of a girl walking along the sidewalk, but was shut out twice.

We headed to the Florida Derby. We caught three races there. In the first one, Mark bet on One Fine Cat, but the horse was near the end of the pack at the finish. Mike got the exacta in the second race, which paid $26.40. Everyone was a winner on the third race. B won $2.40 on his free $2 bet that he got with the price of admission. In the Derby race, Empire Maker won by over 9 lengths, and Midway Cat fell on the final turn. Midway Cat had to be euthanized due to a broken leg. Poor cat.

After the derby, we drove past the Hall of Fame pool in Ft. Lauderdale. We then ate dinner at a place on the strip along the beach. The grouper sandwich was good, our waiter was not so good. A storm came up while we were eating. A cruise ship went into the thick of the storm. After dinner, we headed up 1 towards Pompano Beach.

We stopped by Heidi's, told a few jokes, had some ice cream and some memories.
We didn't see those two white fluffy dogs. Maybe they were in one of the pet rooms.
"B double E double R U N, Beer run!" -B singing on our endless beer run.
When we arrived back in Delray Beach, we were in search of some beer before we hit the bars again. We looked for a Publix, but managed driving about 15 minutes with no luck. We settled for a gas station, grabbed a 12 pack and some 24's and headed back to the Residence Inn.
